This Privacy Policy describes how Indulge Patisserie ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit our website indulgepatisserie.ph, place an order with us, or message us on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.

By using our website or messaging services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Indulge Patisserie is a premium patisserie founded by Chef Patricia G. Dy Tang in 2015. We operate from a Manila commissary and serve customers across the Philippines and abroad.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Order details: name, delivery address, phone number, email, cake/pastry preferences, occasion, headcount, event date
  • Payment information: processed by our payment partners (we do not store full card numbers on our servers)
  • Customer-service messages: content of conversations you have with us on Facebook Messenger, Instagram Direct Messages, WhatsApp, Viber, or email

Information collected automatically

  • Website usage: pages visited, time on site, referring source (via Google Analytics)
  • Marketing attribution: which Facebook ad, email, or social post brought you to our website (via UTM parameters)
  • Order history: items purchased, dates, totals, fulfillment status

Information from Meta (Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp)

When you message us on Meta platforms, we receive — through Meta's official APIs:

  • Your platform identifier (page-scoped user ID for Messenger, IG-scoped user ID for Instagram, phone number for WhatsApp)
  • The content of your message
  • Your public profile name (first and last name only, where Meta permits)
  • Your profile picture URL (where Meta permits)

We do not receive your Facebook friends list, posts, private content, or any data outside the conversation thread you have with us.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  1. Fulfill your orders — prepare your cake or pastry, coordinate delivery, send order confirmations and updates
  2. Respond to your inquiries — answer your messages on Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Viber, or email. Some of our replies are first drafted by an AI assistant ("Bea") and reviewed by a human team member before being sent to you.
  3. Improve your experience — remember your previous orders so we can offer better recommendations when you order again
  4. Send you updates — order status, delivery notifications, post-delivery thank-yous (transactional only — we do not send marketing emails unless you have explicitly subscribed via our newsletter)
  5. Operate our business — analyze sales, manage inventory, run financial reporting, train our team
  6. Comply with the law — respond to lawful requests from Philippine authorities, retain records required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue

4. How we share your information

We share your information only with:

  • Our delivery partners (e.g., Lalamove, Grab, LBC) — to deliver your order. They receive only the recipient name, address, and contact number.
  • Our payment processors (Shopify, GCash, BPI, bank transfer) — to process your payment securely.
  • Our hosting and technical service providers (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Voyage AI) — to operate our website, CRM, and AI concierge service. These providers are bound by data-processing agreements that prohibit them from using your data for any purpose other than serving Indulge Patisserie.
  • Our marketing tools (Klaviyo for email, Meta for ads) — only for customers who have explicitly opted in.

We never sell your personal information to third parties.

5. AI-assisted customer service

When you message us on Facebook Messenger, Instagram, or WhatsApp, our internal AI assistant ("Bea") drafts a reply using Anthropic's Claude language model. Every draft is reviewed and approved by a human team member before being sent to you. You always communicate with a human-supervised reply, even if the initial wording was AI-drafted.

The AI model has access to:

  • The current conversation with you
  • Our product menu and pricing (from our public Shopify store)
  • The history of your prior orders with Indulge Patisserie (if you have any)

Your message content is sent to Anthropic for the sole purpose of generating a draft reply. Per Anthropic's policy, your data is not used to train their models.

6. How long we keep your information

  • Order records: retained for 10 years to comply with Philippine BIR record-keeping requirements
  • Conversation history: retained for as long as you remain an active customer (i.e., have placed an order in the last 5 years); after that, anonymized
  • Marketing preferences: retained until you unsubscribe

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (see our Data Deletion Instructions)
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Philippine National Privacy Commission (NPC) if you believe your rights have been violated

8. Security

We protect your information with industry-standard security measures including:

  • TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers
  • Row-level security on our customer database
  • Two-factor authentication on all administrator accounts
  • Quarterly security reviews

No system is 100% secure, but we take your data seriously.

9. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when the most recent version was published.
